Today we welcome Kora and Kyle home! These two adorable tabbies are sister and brother from a litter of seven.
They all found their way to the Animal Welfare League of Frederick County (AWLFC) on May 12, 2020 at about 3 weeks old. It didn't take much time at all for the seven to find a cozy temporary home with their new foster parents. The same fosters took care of our close friend's kittens last year, so we are very grateful for their efforts. Some quick date math puts their estimated birth date on April 22, 2020; Earth Day. That means we have two more stubborn earth signs in our home. ;-)
Kora and Kyle are so loving of each other. Matt watched Kyle get a bit frightened as Chrissy vacuumed the living room while the three of us stayed put in the main bedroom soon after arriving home. In no time, Kora was at his side, cleaning him with big sister affection. He immediately softened his posture and started relaxing his eyes again. It was fascinating to watch!
This evening (they arrived shortly after 6 PM), they had many adventures discovering their new home. Much purring, some mewing, and a lot of exploring culminated in some very tired kitties later tonight. We are not comfortable leaving them to roam the entire apartment overnight (especially after seeing their attraction to laying on the cables behind the TV), so they will sleep in the bedroom for a few nights with all the necessary accommodations.
Unsurprisingly, Chrissy quickly ordered several cable management boxes so we can stow those cables safely and prevent any possible injuries.
